AI4Good
Jonathan Ramaci created AI4Good, an artificial-intelligence platform built to feed people with food that would otherwise go to waste. Millions of U.S. households face food insecurity while tens of millions of tons of edible food are lost every year. AI4Good connects the two, moving surplus from grocers and restaurants to the people who need it before it spoils.
Photo-based intake
A grocer or restaurant photographs its surplus; the system classifies it, estimates weight, flags allergens, and starts a safe-handling clock.
Routed pickups
Pickups and deliveries are planned around time windows and refrigeration needs.
Smart matching
Food pantries and shelters set their capacity and dietary needs, and the system matches each offer to the right place — at no cost to agencies.
Starting in Charleston
AI4Good is launching first in the Charleston, South Carolina metro area, Jonathan's home region, with more cities to follow.
